Why aren't these men getting more appreciation?
For real.
They are our saviors. Our cartoon saviors.
Yet, for whatever reason, I almost never hear any shout-outs to them.
"Who even is Rob Renzetti? What has he ever done for me?"
I'LL TELL YOU WHO HE IS.
Rob Renzetti is amazing.
A guy who's bros with folks like Genndy Tartakovsky (creator of Dexter's Lab, Samurai Jack, etc.) and Lauren Faust (Powerpuff Girls, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, etc.)
Creator of the gorgeous animated series, My Life as a Teenage Robot.
Recently, was a story editor (and assisted in the creation of) My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic....
.... And now, he's working as a supervising producer of Gravity Falls-- which, if you haven't watched any of it yet, YOU NEED TO.
Thurop van Orman has a bit more of a well-known name, which is great.
Many guys who've worked on his series-- The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack-- are now the creators of their own amazing shows:
Pendleton Ward (Adventure Time), J. G. Quintel (Regular Show), Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls), etc.
This is one awesome man.
As evidenced by his DeviantArt account (, he's incredibly support of all the aspiring artists/cartoonists, out there.
He was so involved with his fans, commenting on Flapjack-related art, posting journals offering inspiration and guidance to those seeking to make their own cartoons, etc.
Lots of the shows mentioned above are the sorts of shows that, for a lot of us artist-folks, are nothing short of miracles.
With creative styles, clever writing, likable characters, and all else fantastic and notable-- they've reminded a lot of people that cartoons aren't a dying art.
They saved us from a world plagued by Johnny Test and Almost Naked Animals, and showed us that TV might be worth watching, again!
Renzetti has always been a hero of mine, with My Life as a Teenage Robot being one of my favorite shows in term of art direction and whatnot.
Thurop-- after a few encounters I had with him here on the 'net-- has inspired me more than I can possibly say. As a 14 year-old who saw very little artistic potential in herself, getting encouraging comments from someone I saw as a celebrity was a huge motivator to keep trying, and to enjoy what I do.
If I ever was to have the opportunity to create a cartoon series of my own, these are the men I would thank. (With a shoutout to Maxwell Atoms and Danny Antonucci, too-- I just dig their shows!)
So yeah, man. I just felt like they needed a bit of love, here!
Hanging out behind the scenes and saving 'toons from the shadows-- like cartoon-studio Batmen.
Keep up the good work, guys.

I AM BAD AT ONLINE ART GALLERIES
IT'S TRUE
WHICH I FEEL TERRIBLE ABOUT
LIKE, I DRAW ALL THE TIME!! Been busting out tons of commissions, making pages of doodles, etc., and generally just enjoying art, again!
... But I just never post any of it. 8'D
The most I do is toss stuff up on my Twitter, but that's all just phone-pics of my sketches so HURH... NOT VERY AMAZING.
Maybe if I can find a big scanner I'll post moaaarrr
SO SORRY, EVERYONEEEE! ;x;
BUT YOU ARE ALL WONDERFUUUULLL & I MISS YA A TON!!
Missing me old Internet-friends!
Awh man
Sorry I'm not too active around these parts, anymore!
Long story short, I've been feeling really down about the internet. Like, super down. Like--... to the point where I still am strongly considering deleting all my accounts and starting anew.
THIS ISN'T ABOUT THAT, THOUGH.
At least, not directly!
I've just realized how much I miss people. As much as I want to go, I'll stumble upon some old journal or old submission and, no matter how stupid my submission may have been, I could scroll down and see tons of comments from friends.
People who I love to death (YEAH, I STILL LOVE YOU PEOPLE. JUST BECAUSE I AIN'T AROUND DON'T MEAN I D
